Ruby Steele is a portrait photographer living and working in London. She has a BA in Photography from London College of Communication, UAL. Her work focuses on the complexities of human portraiture and how the polyvalent nature of power exists in almost all relationships. She pays homage to the renaissance technique of chiaroscuro and is interested in the use of light battling dark in her work. She works with a variety of mediums, on both 6x7 and 35mm analog and digital. She completed her first photographic project in 2018 titled Divine Light, shown in exhibition. Her second collection of work Women on Sofas was completed in 2019, and she is currently working on her newest collection titled Liminality: Disgust and Desire.
